Souris Hong-Porretta curated a coloring book of drawings from over 100+ street artists, including Shepard Fairey, Ryan McGinness, and Keith Haring. She needed a website to support her book launch, two weeks away.
UI
I chose playful color and bold styling to match the book’s cover. Small details like random-color rollovers and crazy-collaged footers brought some of the artists’ spirit to the site.
Development
I customized a responsive Squarespace theme so that Souris could add and rearrange things herself. The home page rotates all the great press on the project, and a preview slideshow teases a few full-size samples, ready to share on social media.
Results
The site was finished two days ahead of schedule, and the book “steamrolled itself to become a Fall 2013 ‘It’ item.”
My two-year-old niece saw the site and told her mom “I need to color with you.” :)
